The City of Sturgis is currently accepting bids for the following goods or services:

Thurston Woods Splash Pad Development Bid
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Thurston Woods Splash Pad Development will be received by the City of Sturgis (attn. City Manager’s Office) at, 130 N. Nottawa, Sturgis, MI 49091, until 4:00 pm local time on January 9, 2023, at which time the Bids received will be opened and read aloud. The project consists of removal of existing pavement, and construction of new splash pad and supporting parking lot and utilities. Michigan DNR Recreation Passport grant funding source is being used for the project and relevant State or federal requirements apply. The Contractor and all Sub-Contractors must comply with all requirements of 1976 PA 453 (Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act), the 1976PA 220 (Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act), and Executive Directive 2019-09, as amended. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. Sealed Bids bearing the project name as well as the name and address of the bidder shall be submitted to City of Sturgis, City Manager’s Office, 130 N. Nottawa, Sturgis, Michigan 49091. Electronic contract documents can be obtained online from the Abonmarche website, found at There is no fee for registration on the plan holder’s list and download of electronic bidding documents. Hard copies are available from ABONMARCHE, 95 W. Main Street, Benton Harbor, Michigan, 49022 (269) 927-2295. The fee for obtaining a hard copy documents is Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00). An additional Ten Dollars ($10.00) will be charged for plans requiring shipping. General Specifications, description and conditions upon which the bid proposal is to be based are on file for examination at the office of the Engineer, Abonmarche, 95 West Main Street, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.A certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Sturgis will be required with each bid as security for the proper execution of the contract. A 100% Labor, Material, and Performance Bond will be required of successful bidder. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled opening without consent of the OWNER. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informality in bidding or to accept the bid, consistent with law, which best serves the interest of the Owner.
