Access to the Site

City Residents
Residents of the City of Sturgis can access the compost site free of charge. When visiting the site they must present their driver's license with Sturgis address or other proof of City residence.

Other Residents
Residents not from the City of Sturgis must pay a non-refundable fee of $35.00 for a pass; they can obtain cards from the Clerk/Treasurer's Office at Sturgis City Hall. A pass is valid for the entire year (April to late November) and the cost is the same regardless of purchase date.  A new pass must be obtained each year.

Commercial Landscapers
The City also provides access to the compost site for commercial landscaping businesses. Landscaping businesses located in the City of Sturgis are charged $150.00 for access, non-City landscaping businesses are charged $250.00. This fee provides the landscaping business 24/7 access to the compost site for the year. A new key must be obtained each year.
